I am beginning my 28th year of teaching! I did my student teaching at Clark, and have taught at Break-O Day, Whiteland Elementary, and of course here at Pleasant Crossing Elementary. I have taught grades 3, 4, and 5 and have a Gifted and Talented Endorsement. I believe that the impact of a teacher is unparalleled. A teacher has the unique opportunity and responsibility to inspire, challenge, change, and mold lives. I chose teaching as my profession because I believe that I can make a difference in the lives of children, our future. The past few years in my career have been especially rewarding for me. I have enjoyed some of my favorite classes and worked for a wonderful principal. To meet the needs of the students, I believe that I must continue to grow professionally. I have decided that I will remain in the classroom because of the direct impact that I have on students. Therefore, I have completed a master’s program in education. Having experience in three different schools leads me to believe that Pleasant Crossing stands out because of the sense of community and values that the students, faculty, and parents share. It is important to me to continue to teach these values of respect and responsibility combined with a rigorous academic program.
At the same time, we will have fun! I have high expectations for my
students and myself as we explore different areas of learning. I have an open door policy and welcome parent input.
